Homelessness is a multifaceted issue that requires a novel approach.
Many local governments are at a crossroads due to lack of funding and tight restrictions surrounding grants.
The Path to Humanity model allows local government organizations to self fund the practical solutions they need instead of applying for grants. Grants are very specific and difficult to obtain. This program creates a funding stream to assist the unhoused as well as other people who are on the verge of homelessness. This program self funds improvements such as rental assistance, down payment assistance, addiction services, mental health support and other services to meet the needs of each community.
Every month over 200 people die in California from drug related overdoes. Countless others die from conditions related to homelessness. We must step up and help them.
The Path to Humanity was founded by Travis Castle, a former Firefighter/Paramedic. Through time spent in that profession, he witnessed so much pain and suffering. At times, fire, law enforcement and EMS are understaffed, under paid and under equipped. First responders sometimes suffer from physical injuries, complex mental health issues, and interpersonal relationship issues due to a lack of support. We have to make things better. We can reduce injuries, improve staffing and improve the quality of life for those who serve our community. They deserve better.
Equality has been waved in front of people like a carrot on a stick. It's time to change the approach and create real change. It's been 159 years since Reparations were promised to the freed slaves. Slave owners were paid for the slaves they lost and other groups have been paid for the atrocities they endured. The Black community has been left behind. This program allows us to self fund continuous payments to the descendants of the freed slaves and also uplift all people of color.
